Apple to invest $1 Billion to release new Scorsese film and other exclusive titles in theaters

Nobody Understands Apple’s Audiovisual Business Plan

Apple’s fondness for giving away months and months of Apple TV+ and the recent news that it will spend a billion dollars this year to produce new movies and release them in theaters has everyone scratching their heads.

Exclusive Releases Not Successful

Apple’s exclusive releases on its platform have not had any pull, as if they were thrown into a bottomless pit. The company needs to make a move to become a heavyweight in the film industry, where it will have more success and relevance in launching prestigious films than they have achieved on television.

Stars Choosing Apple for Theater Releases

Many stars are choosing Apple over Amazon or Netflix because of the company’s new tendency to release films in theaters and not just in its Internet niche. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, it would be strange if the distributor did not take the opportunity to massively release ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’, the latest from Martin Scorsese.

Big Releases Coming Up

Apple has big releases coming up that could greatly benefit from being released in theaters rather than just on a streaming service. These include Ridley Scott’s ‘Napoleon’, ‘Argylle’ by Matthew Vaughn, ‘Project Artemis with Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum, and ‘Wolves’, the new film by Jon Watts outside of Marvel with Brad Pitt and George Clooney.

The Move to the Big Screen is Inevitable

With such a powerhouse squad, the move to the big screen is inevitable for Apple. The company needs to take advantage of the film industry to have more success and relevance and release prestigious films.
