Interview with Michel Eli, producer of Toutankamon the Immersive Experience: Why did you launch this adventure?
After having done the exhibition Tutankhamun, which brought together 1.5 million people, Napoleon 350,000 people, Machu Picchu 350,000 and after doing Ramses 850,000, producing the escape game at the Opera Garnier, we realized that children or teenagers really enjoy learning by playing and it is also a desire for families to be able to push children towards culture by taking them to places with fairly cultural puzzles or within exhibitions in which there is a kind of guiding theme of games that allow the democratization of this culture. My credo is the theatricalization of culture and this is part of it.

How does it work inside?
You will find yourself in the XXL tomb of Tutankhamun on 3000 m2, which is twice the size of a normal exhibition. At Villette, there were 150 original pieces, here, there are more than 1000 pieces that are replicas produced under the supreme guidance of the Egyptian antiquities and created by Egyptian architects. So they are authentic and totally realistic replicas. We have recreated the 4 rooms which are the annex chamber, the antechamber, the burial chamber, and the treasure chamber and which allow you to meet the characters who were rubbed shoulders with Howard Carter in 1922 and who helped him find the treasure. We find a hieroglyph specialist with a puzzle game, the mummification specialist with a game on mummification, the embalming specialist, and the official photographer. All these people really existed and we will costume them and immerse people in the 1922s. At the end of this game, they will be able to create a password that will allow them to enter the treasure chamber and admire the masks and treasures. At the end of this quest, Howard Carter will thank them by letting them enter a room which allows them to accompany the pharaoh in his vision of the journey beyond water. It is the first time that we have created this, it is not mapping because it is new generation led, you will be in a room of 140 m2, surrounded by led and you will be able to pass through the 12 doors of the Book of the Dead.

What can we expect?
Everything is made of stone, there are torches everywhere and demanding work on lights and music. Before meeting Howard Carter, you will enter a village of Egyptian explorers who are working. You will be equipped with a roadbook that will also allow you to know who the characters you are going to meet are and which will help you create the password.

How long does it last?
The box office will be set up this November 30th and will be open until April. For the following, to be continued…

In short, Toutankhamon, the immersive experience, is the event not to be missed! What could be better than an invitation to explore ancient Egypt in a fun, instructive, and entertaining way. Orchestrated by experts, this exhibition promises to be an unforgettable adventure for history and archaeology enthusiasts, as well as for all those in search of an immersive cultural experience.
