Three injured in a knife attack, suspect apprehended

At least three people were injured in a knife attack Saturday morning at the Gare de Lyon, one of whom is in serious condition. The alleged perpetrator of the attack, who holds an Italian driver’s license, has been arrested. The Paris police headquarters indicates that three people were injured Saturday morning at the Gare de Lyon in a knife attack that took place in hall 3 (underground) of the station. Two of them are in critical condition, and the third was injured seriously, but without their life being in danger. According to a police source, the incident occurred around 8 am on Saturday morning. The alleged perpetrator of the attack, who was arrested, did not yell during the assault. His motives remain unknown at this stage, but he showed Italian driver’s license to the police after his arrest. “There is intervention by law enforcement and emergency services currently in Hall 1 and 3, making them temporarily inaccessible,” said SNCF on Twitter. “Traffic is slowed between Paris Gare de Lyon and Montargis and between Paris Gare de Lyon and Montereau,” it also announced, describing it as “an act of malice.” More information to come…
