Mavs Star Luka Doncic Escapes Suspension as Technical Foul Gets Overturned

Dallas Mavericks star Luca Doncic was able to avoid a one-game suspension after the NBA rescinded his 16th technical foul. This decision allowed Doncic to join the team for their game against the Indiana Pacers, where they will be fighting to stay alive in the Western Conference playoff race. Even though the Mavs made it to the conference finals last year, they are currently in 11th place in the West, which is just one spot outside of the playoff tournament.

The Mavs have been experiencing a rough patch lately, suffering from a four-game losing streak, which included losses to the lowly Charlotte Hornets. During the second of those losses on Sunday, Doncic received a technical foul which was later called off. This technical foul was the second one Doncic has had rescinded this season.

The technical was called with 7:51 left in the third period of the 110-104 loss. This happened when Doncic claimed a no-call foul after missing a shot while attacking the basket. Squad boss Kevin Scott explained in his match report that Doncic used profanity directed at the referees in protest at the failure to call a foul that was judged correctly in the post-game video review.”
