The Possibility of Taking the Blockchain to the User

Block chance 23: If the user doesn't want to go to the blockchain, does it have to go to him?

Blockchance 23, held in Hamburg’s CCH, offers a dense and varied program that goes beyond the typical blockchain conference stereotypes. The conference aims to address the lack of blockchain applications that are usable in everyday life. Fabian Vogelsteller, one of the first Ethereum developers, believes that the problem lies in the poor user experience when interacting with crypto services. His project, Lukso, aims to offer a real account model that can be used for various services. The goal is to create a user-friendly ecosystem that includes encrypted messengers, social networks, blockchain gaming, and NFT communities. Another developer, Piers Ridyard, agrees that user-friendly functions are essential for wallets. He believes that a change in architecture and the introduction of new blockchain protocols, such as his project Radix, will help improve the user experience. The lack of user control in transactions was also discussed during a panel, where it was revealed that many users have experienced anxiety during crypto transactions. The mainstream acceptance of blockchain technology is still lacking, as indicated by the relatively small number of attendees compared to the AI-focused sessions. The potential integration of blockchain and AI was explored, highlighting the benefits of using blockchain for secure documentation of training data and facilitating crypto transactions between AI agents. The panel also discussed the challenges of tokenizing all values and the need for a digital euro, distribution channels, super apps, simplified KYC processes, and knowledge transfer. The potential of blockchain in gaming was also discussed, with participants acknowledging the need for attractive titles that go beyond simply offering grindy play-to-earn mechanics. Graphics, gameplay, and easy onboarding were identified as crucial factors for greater adoption of blockchain gaming. Overall, Blockchance 23 provided a platform to discuss and explore solutions to the various challenges faced by the blockchain industry. The conference was a mix of business discussions and a cooler atmosphere, reflecting the current state of the crypto market.
