Sebastian Mai, former captain of Dynamo Dresden, will be returning to Harbig Stadium on Wednesday with his current team, MSV Duisburg. However, his commitment to the game is in question due to an injury in his calf. A hamstring tear is a serious injury, but Mai hasn’t given up yet, and the decision will be made shortly before the game.
Despite currently living in Duisburg, Mai still has an apartment in Dresden, and he even plans to move in with his girlfriend Julia there. When asked about his relationship with Dynamo, Mai expressed his support for the team, claiming that he will always be connected to the club, even if saying goodbye wasn’t easy.
Mai may even be able to help Dynamo by taking points from some of their rivals with Duisburg, especially since he inadvertently helped Dynamo win 1-0 in their previous match. However, Mai believes that Dresden’s success this season isn’t guaranteed, as the third and fourth place slots are still up for grabs. Nonetheless, he believes that Dynamo’s current momentum and team dynamics make them a formidable opponent.
When asked about MSV’s game plan, Mai explained that it’s important to stop Stefan Kutschke, one of Dynamo’s top players, from collecting the second ball. The first goal will also be crucial, as statistics suggest that the team that scores first has a better chance of winning. Ultimately, MSV will have to put in a lot of effort and struggle if they hope to come out on top in the third division.
