Wife of Andrés García Shares Details of His Final Moments

The entertainment world was left in shock and mourning at the passing of Mexican actor Andrés García. The actor, who is known for his roles in telenovelas such as El hijo del pueblo and El derecho de nacer, passed away on November 5, 2021, at the age of 81.

His wife, Margarita Portillo, has since opened up about the last moments of the actor’s life in an interview with People en Español.

According to Portillo, García had been battling health issues for some time before his passing. He had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, in 2019. The disease had left him paralyzed and using a wheelchair.

On the day of García’s passing, Portillo said that he had received last rites from a priest. She went on to describe his final moments, stating that he passed away surrounded by loved ones.

“He was with his family, with his children, his grandchildren, his great-grandchildren, and me,” she said. “He passed away peacefully. We talked to him, we told him how much we loved him.”

She also shared that García’s children had put together a video montage of his life and accomplishments to show him before he passed.

In the wake of García’s passing, many of his fellow actors and telenovela stars took to social media to pay tribute and express their condolences. His legacy as an actor and entertainer will undoubtedly live on through his work, and he will be fondly remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
