Manolis Saliakas, St. Pauli’s Greek right-back player, has his eyes set on returning to the national team in order to qualify for the European Championship in Germany 2024. His contract with St. Pauli runs until 2025, making it clear that his focus is on achieving his national team dream.
Saliakas has already represented Greece twice at the senior national level, but was disappointed to not make it to the finals in his latest nomination. Despite this setback, he remains determined to prove himself and earn a spot on the national team once again.
The next opportunity for Saliakas to showcase his abilities will be in St. Pauli’s upcoming match against Sandhausen. The team is currently on a seven-game winning streak, and Saliakas believes it is the perfect environment for him to succeed and eventually make his return to the national team.
Greece’s qualification for the European Championship begins next Friday in Group B against Gibraltar, and Saliakas hopes to be a part of the team for their upcoming match against Ireland on June 16th.
