Jonas Hofmann: Indispensable Player for Borussia Mönchengladbach

Borussia Mönchengladbach: Jonas Hofmann cannot be deported

Jonas Hofmann, the star player for Gladbach, was not nominated by national coach Hansi Flick for the first rebuilding international matches after the World Cup disaster. Despite playing a mega season in the Bundesliga with 18 points, consisting of eight goals and ten assists in 22 games, Flick chose to nominate newcomers Kevin Schade, Marius Wolf, and Josha Vagnoman for the right side instead. These players come together with only eight goals in total.

Hofmann expressed his disappointment with not being picked for the team, stating that playing for Germany was always his biggest goal. However, he trusts Flick’s plans and accepts the decision. Hofmann is determined to perform well and be back in June, as he converted his frustration into a record-setting performance in his last game against Werder Bremen. He alone put ten shots on his colleagues, out of the 21 Gladbach shots on goal.

Trainer Daniel Farke also sees Hofmann having a bright future in the national team if he continues his impressive form. Despite not being nominated, Hofmann remains motivated to perform well and push himself even harder. His disappointment has only fueled his drive to succeed, and he sees the opportunity to play for the national team as even more of a push to improve himself.
