Imposter Taxi Driver Assaults Young Man in Paris

A recent article from Le Parisien highlighted a particularly disturbing story. At 5 a.m., a 35-year-old man and his friend left a nightclub in a drunken state, looking for a taxi to take them home. They were picked up by a taxi driver who was not licensed and took advantage of the man by forcing him into a sexual act and touching him inappropriately. The driver also fled with the woman’s belongings.

About 20 minutes after leaving the nightclub, the man contacted the police to report the assault and theft. The taxi driver, known as Jean-Pierre, was arrested 20 minutes later while driving another customer. It was discovered that Jean-Pierre did not have a taxi license and was borrowing the car from a friend for errands. He also used the woman’s credit card for purchases.

During questioning, Jean-Pierre admitted to theft and fraud but denied the sexual assault allegations. He has a criminal record with 12 prior charges for offenses like “resisting arrest” and “robbery with violence.” A psychiatric evaluation characterized him as having perverse tendencies and an inability to self-reflect. Jean-Pierre remains in custody pending further investigation.
