Oscars: Gene Hackman is back – at 93!

Legendary Hollywood Actor Gene Hackman Spotted at Gas Station in Santa Fe, New Mexico

When an elderly man stopped by a gas station in Santa Fe, New Mexico and filled his Ford pickup truck with gas, hardly anyone noticed that the gentleman in question was none other than Hollywood legend Gene Hackman. The 93-year-old actor has been out of the limelight for quite some time now, with his last film appearance being almost 20 years ago in Welcome to Mooseport.

However, on Thursday, photographers captured a touching sight of the iconic actor stopping at a petrol pump. Despite his age showing its mark, it is gratifying to see that Hackman is apparently still able to manage his everyday life independently.

Hackman has received widespread critical acclaim for his roles on the silver screen, earning himself an Oscar for his performances in Unforgiven and French Connection, and receiving three other nominations. His list of unforgettable cinema moments is almost endless, including his portrayal of Lex Luthor in the Superman films, and his appearance in Wes Anderson’s “Royal Tennenbaums”.

Since retiring in 2004, Hackman has been enjoying his time with his wife Betsy Arakawa, who has been by his side for over 30 years. He also has three children from his first marriage to Faye Maltese, who is said to have passed away at 89. Despite his absence from Hollywood, Hackman remains an icon in the world of cinema, and his fans continue to celebrate his incredible career.
