French Cup: PSG to face US Revel, Lens-Monaco clash in round of 32 draw

This Monday, the draw for the Round of 32 of the Coupe de France took place, with the entry of Ligue 1 clubs. This means that Paris Saint-Germain will play their first match of the season in the Cup against US Revel, a club from Régional 1, which is 5 divisions below Ligue 1.

Last year, PSG played against Pays de Cassel in the Round of 16 and will now face another R1 club in the Coupe de France. Kylian Mbappé scored five goals in the victory against Pays de Cassel. The match will take place from January 5th to 7th, 2024, but the location is still to be determined as the US Revel stadium is not suitable for such a match.

An exciting fixture in the draw is Lens versus Monaco. Both teams are currently placed seventh and third in Ligue 1, and it will be a tough match for both to progress to the next round.

Paris FC, from Ligue 2, is also part of the Round of 32 after their 3-1 win against Saint-Denis. They will play against Alès-en-Cévennes from National 2.

Chambly, from the Oise department, also secured a spot in the round of 32 after defeating US Blériot-Plage 3-0. They will now face off against Racing CFF, a team from the same division.

The surprise guest in the competition is the Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien, a National 3 team, who defeated Furiani Agliani 1-0. They will now play against Bordeaux from Ligue 2.

For the women’s competition, Paris Saint-Germain will play against Bréquigny Rennes, while Fleury 91 will host Guingamp, and VGA Saint-Maur will welcome RC Lens. Two other Parisian clubs, Beauvais and Paris FC, have also qualified for the round of 16.
