DFB’s Flick Call Surprises New National Player

DFB: Because of a flick call! New national player completely surprised

Josha Vagnoman, the 22-year old German right-back player, has been nominated by national coach Hansi Flick for the upcoming friendlies against Peru and Belgium. This came as a surprise, not only to fans and experts, but also to Vagnoman himself who didn’t expect the call from Flick at all. “Of course it also came as a surprise to me,” Vagnoman said.

Despite being the substitute to Waldemar Anton in VfB Stuttgart, Vagnoman takes the situation professionally and will not let himself down. He has been absent for a long time due to a bone edema, but has been free of injury for a long time now and is ready for the tasks ahead.

Flick believes Vagnoman’s football style can give the team a lot and wants to support him for next year. However, this nomination surprised experts like Didi Hamann who reported that Flick said last week that the performance principle applies in goal. It was surprising that a player who doesn’t play a role in the penultimate table was called up.

VfB trainer Bruno Labbadia hopes Vagnoman can gain match practice with the national team and bring a positive experience back to Stuttgart. Currently playing for relegation, getting match practice at the club is not that easy. As such, choosing stability is necessary.

Despite the surprise nomination, Vagnoman is ready to represent his country in the upcoming friendlies and potentially make his debut for the senior national team.
