Crisis Summit Held Between Hellmann and Holzer at Eintracht Frankfurt

Eintracht Frankfurt: crisis summit between Hellmann and Holzer

At a crisis summit with Eintracht’s spokesman Axel Hellmann (51), the chairman of the supervisory board, Philip Holzer (57), reportedly admitted to making mistakes, according to an announcement by Eintracht on Wednesday evening. The two had an intensive, critical and constructive conversation, discussing the understanding of the role and the classification of certain factual issues, specifically the capital measure. They also exchanged different positions and interests.

Holzer understands that individual points could be misinterpreted and both parties have agreed to let the talks take effect and continue. At the meeting, the possibility of Hellmann becoming the new DFL boss was discussed. However, at this stage, both parties have agreed to remain silent on this topic.

The main reason for the meeting was the increase in equity at Eintracht planned at the end of last year. Stephen Orenstein, who owns 16.81% of Eintracht shares along with Holzer as Friends of the Eagle, wanted to acquire more shares. However, the price of the Eintracht share has almost doubled recently, and Eintracht is no longer dependent on an increase in equity since Randal Kolo Muani can be sold to Manchester United for €120 million in the summer, and equity is already almost €30 million.

Holzer now wants to concentrate on his job as the boss of the supervisory board and restore his relationship with Hellmann.
