Possible new title: Is Hannover 96 Facing Relegation to 3rd Division?

Hannover 96: Soon in the 3rd division? The danger of relegation is really that big

Captain Ron-Robert Zieler of Hannover 96 has issued a warning, stating that the current situation of the team is dangerous. Head of Sport, Marcus Mann has also voiced concern, saying that at the moment, the team is far from winning.

The team is in free fall through the 2nd division and if they do not turn things around quickly, they will risk a hard landing in the 3rd division in just over two months. They are just six points ahead of Rostock, who are in relegation place 17, after nine winless games.

In the second half of the season, the team has only managed three points from eight games, which amounts to an average of 0.375. If the team continues to perform in this manner, there will only be an additional four points to add, which rounds up to 35 points – this may or may not be enough to avoid relegation.

To make matters worse, of the eight opponents that Hannover 96 have faced in the second half of the season, six have been weaker than the team on paper, yet they have failed to secure victory. The team has also faced losses against St. Pauli (0:2), Magdeburg (1:2) and most recently, the Derby (0:1).

The top four clubs, HSV, Heidenheim, Darmstadt and Düsseldorf are yet to come and if Hannover 96 does not start performing at its best, the chance of winning seems dim. Mann has urged the team to quickly regroup, as otherwise, there is a serious risk of relegation.
