Bard: Classic Company Applications Get Infused with Google AI through No Code

Bard instead of ChatGPT: Google AI comes into classic company applications via no code

Google has announced the introduction of its Gen App Builder, a no-code app builder that uses generative AI to help developers create conversational applications effortlessly. The app builder permits developers to use a few clicks to create applications that replace conversations with customers, colleagues, and search queries from human users. Through the Gen App Builder, developers can access a company’s internal and external data and integrate it with a user’s input. This includes data in the form of text, images, or videos when building and using the application.

Furthermore, developers have the freedom to specify how detailed the conversation between the user and the AI should be. The application can also connect to third-party software. Google has not specified which software the application can connect to.

Google provides two practical examples of sales and investor research. The app builder can create chatbots that provide buyers with product alternatives, and it can also be used for background research on investments. Users can inquire in natural language, and the AI uses publicly available data to provide answers.

Google’s announcement of the Gen App Builder comes at a time when competitors are already integrating AI models into classic business applications. Salesforce and Slack have already implemented AI into their CRM clouds, while free business software like Nextcloud can now link to DeepL, Dall-E, and ChatGPT.

Google’s announcement of the Gen App Builder is coming late, which raises concerns about whether the tech giant can catch up to Microsoft and OpenAI’s LaMDA-based chatbots. Nonetheless, Google promises that developers can control how AI uses data in the finished application to combine the natural flow of a conversation with company control.
