Testing 13 and 14 Inch Notebooks with Latest Core i Processors

13 and 14 inch notebooks with current Core i processors in the test

The notebook market has seen major changes due to factors such as the corona pandemic and Russia’s war in Ukraine. While there was high demand for notebooks during lockdowns and working from home, logistical bottlenecks and a lack of components prevented supply from meeting this demand. Currently, the market is oversaturated and buying mood is low.

Manufacturers have had to adjust their plans as a result, with notebooks under 1000 euros mainly featuring CPUs up to three generations old. The thirteenth Core i generation from Intel, unveiled in January 2023, is only found in high-end devices such as the 13 and 14-inch notebooks that were tested by c’t magazine.

The devices tested include the Asus ZenBook 14X (UX3404VA), Acer Swift Go 14 (SFG-71), Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon (13IRP8), LG Gram 14 (2023), MSI Summit E14 Flip Evo (A13MT), and Samsung Galaxy Book3 Pro 14. These devices are priced at 1400 euros and above. The HP Dragonfly Folio G3 2-in-1, which uses a twelfth generation Core i processor, is the most expensive device in the test field.

Despite the high prices, Windows 11 is preinstalled on all candidates. The digital subscription for IT and technology, c’t, offers exclusive tests, guides, and background information. Magazine subscribers have even cheaper access. A free trial is available for those interested.
