Another Derby for Paris

Paris dominated Nanterre in the Francilian derby of the 8th round of Betclic Elite, winning 67-98. The capital’s club consolidates its position as runner-up, tied with Bourg-en-Bresse, who also won against Limoges (87-77).

Just three days after their third victory in as many Eurocup matches against Hamburg, Paris claimed the victory in the Francilian derby against Nanterre in the 8th round of Betclic Elite. And they did it quite convincingly, with a score of 67-98. The capital’s club seems to have a good record against the clubs from Hauts-de-Seine, as Boulogne-Levallois had previously suffered a defeat against Paris in the sixth round (93-86). As usual, TJ Shorts and Nadir Hifi played a major role in the victory, with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists for Shorts, and 14 points, 1 rebound, and 1 assist for Hifi. This win, the sixth of the current season, keeps Paris in second place behind Monaco.

However, this runner-up position is shared with Bourg-en-Bresse. The team from Ain also had a commanding win against Limoges (87-77), thanks in large part to Canadian player Isiaha Mike, who was the top scorer of the match with 17 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists. With one less victory, Cholet can still have the same record as Paris and Bourg-en-Bresse after their postponed match, as they surprised Le Mans in their own court, thanks in part to the outstanding performance of their center Neal Sako, who scored 14 points, grabbed 5 rebounds, and made 3 assists. The same can be said for Nancy, who won their away game against Saint-Quentin (71-78). Jamaican player Shevon Thompson stood out with an impressive double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds.

In the other matches of the day, Dijon dominated Chalon-sur-Saône in their home court with a score of 73-66. The bottom-ranked team, Boulogne-Levallois, suffered their eighth defeat in as many games, losing to Blois (81-87).
