60 Players and Coaches Sanctioned by LFP for Sports Betting

The LFP exposes the fraudsters.

This Thursday, the Professional Football League has shown a strong stance by revealing the names of 60 players and coaches from French football who have engaged in sports betting. The sanctions range from a 500 euro fine to a 5-match suspension, sometimes accompanied by fines of several thousand euros. Among the cited players are the Stade Lavallois striker Malik Tchokounté, Caen’s Yoann Court, and Amiens’ Louis Mafouta. This initiative from the LFP comes just weeks after revelations that implicated several Italian players.

No Lyon players had bet on the victory in Rennes, however.

Christophe Bouchet: “The LFP-CVC agreement is deadly for French football”.
