The best bistro in Paris for 2023 has been announced and is located in the 5th arrondissement. According to the Pudlo Bistro Awards, unveiled on Monday, October 9, 2023, the Moulin à Vent has been named “bistro of the year” by renowned food critic Gilles Pudlowski.
The establishment, which was founded in 1946, has been taken over by Théophile Moles, who has been praised as “dynamic” by Pudlowski. The interior of the bistro retains its original charm with a vintage counter and traditional bistro-style tables and benches. The young team, led by Théophile Moles, has kept the spirit of the bistro intact by lowering prices and serving homestyle cuisine of exceptional quality under the guidance of chef Maxime Plateau, who previously worked at Lucas Carton for three years. The menu offers a selection of “subtle, traditional, and flavorful” dishes.
The Moulin à Vent stood out among the 107 restaurants featured in the new guidebook, Petit Pudlo Bistros 2023. Last year, the award went to the Paris 16 restaurant.
For those interested in visiting, the Moulin à Vent is located at 20 Rue des Fossés Saint-Bernard and is open from Tuesday to Saturday.
