Market – PSG: Unleashing the Revolution in Paris

Foot – Mercato – PSG

The summer of 2023 saw PSG make some major changes to its team, with the departure of several stars being replaced by young talents. The arrival of Luis Enrique as coach also led to a change in the team’s style of play. Despite a slow start, PSG has been enjoying success in Ligue 1, much to the delight of goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

The PSG has already been crowned. With a 3-1 victory over Metz at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night, the Paris club reached 40 points in Ligue 1. Before this final match of the year, Paris was already assured of finishing as the autumn champions, an honorary title given to the team at the top of the French league at the halfway point of the season.

The PSG has transformed this summer. However, it took some time for the PSG to get into gear. Despite the drastic changes in the team’s roster over the summer and the arrival of Luis Enrique as the new coach, PSG had to wait until their third match to secure their first win of the season (against RC Lens, 3-1, on August 26th).

“We managed to show the true face of PSG.” When asked about the PSG’s early season struggles, Gianluigi Donnarumma stated that the difficulties were understandable given the revolution carried out by the club over the summer. “We encountered some difficulties, which is normal with a new coach and many new players, and then we managed to show the true face of PSG. We are happy to end the year in first place,” said the Italian goalkeeper.
