We Tried the New Immersive Restaurant in Paris

The new Jungle Palace restaurant, owned by the Ephemera Group, has just opened its doors in Paris. In addition to dinner, it offers an immersion in a tropical forest atmosphere.

Nature seems to have taken over in this former chic brasserie located near Gare de l’Est in Paris’s 10th arrondissement. The Ephemera Group, already in charge of Under the sea and Stellar, has just opened its new location, which is already attracting curious Parisians.

During dinner, guests are immersed in a thematic atmosphere. The tropical flora extends from the floor to the ceiling, a decor skillfully designed by a team of film set specialists. More than just a dining experience, Jungle Palace aims to stimulate all the senses. From sight with lush nature, to hearing with immersive sound effects. For example, mist descends, projected onto the walls using video mapping. After a few seconds of darkness, thunder roars and a torrential rain can be heard before giving way to a blue sky and the chirping of birds.

The palate is also engaged with an effective menu. Cocktails (starting from 7 euros), served in astonishing plant-shaped containers, attract attention. The cuisine naturally draws from exotic flavors. For starters, there is the “alloco,” fried plantains, which stand out. They are dipped in a slightly spicy tomato sauce.

The daurade ceviche with mango sauce is accompanied by sweet potatoes (19.5 euros). There is also a dish called “tiger who cries” (20 euros) with chimichurri sauce. Desserts (starting from 8 euros), from coconut mango to French toast banoffee, focus on the pleasure of comfort food.

Before settling a quite reasonable bill, a detour to the restroom is an absolute must for a fantastic mushroom-themed spectacle.
