VfB Stuttgart Coach Labbadia in Turmoil Due to Guirassy’s Delayed Return

VfB Stuttgart: Labbadia in storm distress – when will Guirassy return?

VfB Stuttgart in Trouble: Guirassy Returns but Coach Lacks Options

VfB Stuttgart is facing acute storm distress with only one dangerous striker and a coach who lacks options. The top scorer Serhou Guirassy is said to be returning to team training after a seven-week injury break. However, VfB coach Bruno Labbadia is unsure whether he can count on Guirassy for the away game on Saturday at Union Berlin.

Labbadia points out that Guirassy is still not 100% fit and shows signs of tiredness. Nevertheless, he is the only successful striker at the bottom of the table, with eight goals this season. Since Guirassy’s absence at the beginning of February, VfB’s scoring ability has been unimaginative, and Labbadia’s 4-3-3 system is specially tailored to the French striker.

The coach has no plan B in his pocket, but he has tried to play with people who don’t necessarily feel comfortable in their positions. Winger Silas, who mostly acted unhappily as Guirassy’s replacement, has struggled to make balls and has little connection to his teammates. Normally, the Congolese player is at home on the right side and plays much more successfully there.

The issue is that Silas still has to serve as a substitute center forward due to Luca Pfeiffer’s devastating Bundesliga record. Labbadia has given Pfeiffer just 17 minutes of play in the last five games, and Pfeiffer has yet to prove that he is suitable for the Bundesliga.

Labbadia admits the difficulties: “We have already tried a lot. But sometimes we have to play with people who don’t necessarily feel comfortable there.” The coach longs like no other for Guirassy’s comeback, but the hope that no more issues will come up is high at VfB – not only with the striker but also with the team’s overall performance.

In conclusion, VfB Stuttgart is struggling with a lack of options and a coach who has no plan B. Despite Guirassy’s return, the team’s scoring ability has been unimaginative, and the coach is struggling to find suitable replacements when the top scorer is unable to play. With only a few games left in the season, VfB Stuttgart needs to find a solution before it’s too late.
