The Paris City Hall tests the dismantling of boxes, the booksellers dismayed

The Paris town hall removed then put back four bouquinistes book boxes on the banks of the Seine on Friday. This was part of a test for the 2024 Olympics ceremony. In preparation for the games, the Paris police prefecture demands the removal of nearly 600 of the 900 green book boxes along the Seine ahead of the opening ceremony on July 26, 2024.

A crane lifted these large wooden boxes, some of which have been on the banks for 50 years and the oldest are 150 years old. However, they were put back at midnight and the books were placed inside without any apparent damage. A report will be presented by the town hall to review the test.
