Teddy Riner Fights for Seats for His Loved Ones, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra Ensures He Will Have Six Tickets

The French judoka expressed his regret on the show “Quelle Epoque” on Saturday, February 24th, about the difficulty of getting seats for his entourage in the stands at the upcoming Olympic Games. The Sports Minister assured him that he will have them, through a special allocation from the State.

The debate over seats for the Paris Olympic Games is back. This time, it’s not so much about the price, but about the number reserved for athletes. Teddy Riner, a guest on the show “Quelle Epoque” on France Télévisions, expressed his difficulty in obtaining seats for the home games this summer (July 26-August 11). “I am fighting every day to get seats,” he said, mentioning that he is entitled to two seats on his competition day from the French Judo Federation.

This statement surprised many on the show, and Amélie Oudea-Castera responded on X by reassuring Teddy Riner that he will have 6 seats for his entourage at each of his sessions.

In addition to the two seats offered by the judo federation, the government, along with the French National Olympic and Sports Committee, is providing “four seats to each athlete for each session in which he/she is competing,” at a cost of over 1.6 million euros.

Regarding ticketing for the Olympics, which has often been a topic of controversy, the triple Olympic champion, who will be competing in his fifth Games this summer, acknowledges that “Olympic Games can still be expensive.” However, he noted that the prices have been kept reasonable.
