WWDC Leaks: Hands-on with Colorful Reality Pro, Hey Siri End and New Mac Studio

Apple set to unveil new products at WWDC 2023

Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote begins today at 7 p.m. Central European Time and there have been several rumors circulating about what the tech giant will be unveiling. Some of the most anticipated announcements include Apple’s mixed reality headset, the new Macs, and updates to its AI language assistant Siri.

Mixed reality headset

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman, Apple will not hide its Reality Pro headset behind glass, as it had done with its first iPhone. Instead, the company has built a large structure in Apple Park that is specifically intended for hands-on demos. The testing area is located near the fitness center at the company headquarters, and media representatives and some developers will be allowed to show demos in the Steve Jobs Theater. Gurman reports that the area will be open throughout the summer on invitation basis.

However, certain user groups who are prone to migraines and dizziness, as well as those who have had brain injuries and concussions should be warned against use. Other rumors concerning the new Reality Pro include the colors it will be available in and the memory sizes. A leaker on Twitter claims that Apple is planning six colors and two memory sizes, but this is yet to be confirmed. The mass production of the headset is expected to begin in October, and the product will be available for sale from late 2023.

Updates to Siri

Mark Gurman also revealed that Apple may be about to bury the “Hey Siri” trigger term. Instead, in the future, users may only need to say “Siri” to access the AI language assistant. Although Gurman had made a similar claim last fall, nothing had happened so far, but this week, the project is expected to come to fruition.

New Mac Studio

Gurman also confirmed that Apple will present a new Mac Studio with M2 Max and M2 Ultra at this year’s WWDC. The code named “J475” has allegedly been leaked, which would follow the first Mac Studio that was coded “J375.” The M2 Max is expected to combine eight high-performance cores with four efficiency cores and support a maximum of 30 GPU cores and 96GB of RAM. The previously unknown M2 Ultra is slated to have a total of 24 cores (16 high-performance and 8 efficiency cores), 60 GPU cores, and a maximum RAM size of 192 GB.

Final thoughts

Apple’s WWDC 2023 keynote promises to unveil some exciting new products, including updates to Siri, a mixed reality headset, and new Macs. Only time will tell if the rumors are true, but one thing is certain – Apple is always looking for innovative ways to stay ahead of the game, and its fans cannot wait to see what new developments it has up its sleeve.
