Social networks: Paris wins, but Mbappé sulks

A few minutes after PSG’s beautiful victory in Marseille achieved with a numerical disadvantage, Kylian Mbappé did nothing better than to post on Instagram a photo of himself with his head down leaving the field.

PSG struggled to win in Marseille, not only because the weather conditions were absolutely horrible this Sunday evening in the Bouches-du-Rhône. Reduced to 10 just before half-time following the expulsion of Lucas Beraldo, the Parisians were able to find the mental, technical, and tactical resources to win after a second half that was largely controlled overall despite a few logically conceded chances. A great evening indeed.

As captain for the evening in the absence of Marquinhos, Kylian Mbappé generally had a bad game, possibly his last Classique, and Luis Enrique did not hesitate to substitute him shortly after the hour mark as PSG’s big games will be numerous in April. On the field, the player did not hide his displeasure at being substituted, with even an easily read curse word on his lips at the moment of his exit, but his early substitution was soon overshadowed by the final whistle.

It seems that the one wearing the armband could not bear not being the star of the evening, or not playing more on the pitch of the Vélodrome where he had already had a ridiculous game a few days earlier with France. At 11:15 pm, while his team should still have been celebrating this victory in the stands of the Vélodrome stadium, Kylian Mbappé therefore took to his Instagram account to post a photo of himself, from behind and in the rain, at the moment of his substitution with the Paris Saint-Germain armband dangling from his fingers.

No comment from him, just a simple photo, but it still managed to slightly spoil the evening. Strange captain.
