Critical vulnerabilities threaten Cisco Industrial Network Director and Modeling Labs

Cisco Network Tools Face Critical Vulnerabilities

Cisco has identified critical vulnerabilities in several of its network tools, including the Industrial Network Director and Modeling Labs. Attackers could exploit these gaps to target systems and launch DoS attacks, among other threats. The company has released security updates that address these issues.

One of the most significant vulnerabilities is in the Industrial Network Director. An authenticated attacker could exploit this critical flaw to execute their own commands on the system and access data without authorization. Cisco has not yet disclosed how this could be done but has released the version 1.11.3 to address this flaw.

Another critical flaw is in Modeling Labs where attackers could bypass the login and access the web interface as an admin due to insufficient checks. The updated version 2.5.1 addresses this vulnerability.

Other vulnerabilities affect Broadworks, IOS network operating system, Packet Data Network Gateway, SD-WAN, StarOS and TelePresence. Attackers could use these flaws to paralyze services and launch DoS attacks.

Cisco has provided detailed information about these vulnerabilities and the security updates available for download. System administrators are advised to take immediate action and install these updates to protect their systems from these potential threats.
