Seamless No-Code Application Development with GPT Integration: Minimal Skill Set Required

Application via no-code: With GPT support, even less prior knowledge is required

German software company smapOne has unveiled a prototype for its AI-supported no-code platform known as smapifier. This platform allows employees to create business applications even without technical knowledge. Unlike other no-code platforms, it doesn’t require that users know what content-related processes the app should handle. Developed using OpenAI’s AI model GPT-3.5, smapifier comes with three ways to integrate AI into creating business applications with no-code support. A non-specialist user can supply the tool with a “text-to-smap” input, upload a PDF description of the application, or use smapOne’s chatbot to collect the necessary information.

In the announcement, Holger Kreissl from smapOne boasted that citizen developers will be able to develop operational apps, including formulas, mandatory fields, and logic in seconds, without technical or content-related knowledge. The goal is to save developers time – by automating much of the process, users can complete app development in two to three hours, or at most, in three weeks, compared with the several months it takes through conventional no-code processes. The AI already has practical process knowledge and best practices users can leverage to create functional apps.

Smapifier is still in its prototype stage, and there’s no word on when it will officially hit the market. Interested companies can register to join an Early Access variant to test the platform and provide feedback. SmapOne’s platform, bard, and Google have similar plans to combine AI technology with no-code application development.
