The Handball Bundesliga has been hit with mourning after the unexpected death of Rolf Brack at the age of 69. Brack had been a coach since 1983 and was most recently coaching at DJK Rimpar until the end of the 2020/21 season.
Bob Hanning, the Fox boss, expressed his pain and sorrow for the loss of Brack. He called him one of the greatest innovators in handball and praised his ability to argue without getting personal. Brack was called a mentor by Ralf Rangnick.
Brack had to undergo a urological operation as reported by “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”. He is survived by his wife, two children, and four grandsons. Brack was also a member of the Federal Teaching Committee of the German Handball Federation.
Many Bundesliga coaches, such as Germany’s national coach Alfred Gislason, passed the A license exam under Brack. The handball community is truly saddened by this loss, and his presence in the sport will be remembered for a long time.
