Royals Celebrate First Mother’s Day Without the Queen through Picture Sharing

On the first Mother’s Day without Queen Elizabeth II, the British royal family has taken to Twitter to send their love and remembrance. King Charles III shared a photograph of him as a young boy sitting on his mother’s lap. Next to it, was a picture of his wife, Queen Camilla, with her mother.

In the tweet, the royal family extended their love to all mothers and those missing their mothers on this occasion. Queen Elizabeth II passed away last September at the age of 96. Along with the tweet was a message, “To all mothers everywhere, and to those who are missing their mothers today, we are thinking of you and wishing you a very special Mother’s Day.”

Prince William and Princess Kate also shared photographs on Twitter for Mother’s Day. The images featured Kate and their three children sitting in a tree and another photograph of Kate holding their youngest child, Louis. The tweet sent love and well-wishes from their family to others.

Mother’s Day in Great Britain was celebrated on March 19th, while in Germany, it falls on May 14th this year. It is a day to honor mothers and show them love and appreciation.
