Romane Dicko, after her victory at the Paris Grand Slam: Truly a good omen

French judo player Clarisse Agbegnenou, has regained the top spot in the Paris Grand Slam. In an interview, Agbegnenou said it is amazing to win in Paris, especially with the enthusiastic local public. She noted the significance of winning six months before the Olympics. Agbegnenou also highlighted that there is always room for improvement.

Despite winning, she mentioned that there is still much to work on. Agbegnenou expressed satisfaction with her performance, especially in the final against the Turkish judoka Kayra Ozdemir. She stated that she had been working on overcoming the challenges presented by Ozdemir’s profile.

Looking ahead to the Olympics, Agbegnenou emphasized the need to work on several aspects of her judo, including standing-ground connections and strangles. She also expressed her desire to participate in a few more competitions before the Olympics for added confidence.

Agbegnenou downplayed the pressure of competing in Paris ahead of this year’s Olympics, stating that she felt more energized by the support of the French crowd. She considered the tournament as a great opportunity to compete at home before the summer event.
