Renfe reiterates its ambitions in France

Spanish operator Renfe aims to become a leading operator for regional trains in France, as it seeks to expand its presence in the country. Renfe began operating high-speed trains between Lyon and Barcelona, as well as between Marseille and Madrid, on 13 July. It transported 100,000 passengers by mid-September and aims to reach 400,000 passengers by 2024. Renfe plans to establish connections between Paris and Barcelona, Paris and Lyon, and also considers the Paris-Lyon-Marseille line. The company’s director of international projects, Susana Lozano, confirmed that these plans are part of their ambitions in France.
