Release of Members of the Ultra-right from Police Custody, Except for Marc de Caqueray-Valmenier

Sunday, February 11th, 38 of the 39 members of the far right were released from police custody in Paris, only the former leader of the “Zouaves” had his extended.

The detentions of 38 of the 39 members of the far-right, arrested on Saturday, February 10 in Paris, were lifted, the prosecutor’s office said on Sunday, February 11. “Throughout the afternoon, 38 detentions were lifted with a decision not to prosecute,” including that of Gabriel Loustau, a figure of the Gud, the prosecutor’s office said.

The Extension of the Guardianship of the 24-year-old former leader of the dissolved group “Zouaves” in January 2022 in a Council of Ministers, Marc de Cacqueray-Valmenier, was the only one prolonged. Already convicted and imprisoned in recent years, the far-right activist is currently under investigation and is under judicial supervision in connection with the assault on SOS Racisme activists in December 2021 during a meeting of Eric Zemmour, president of the far-right Reconquest movement. As part of this judicial investigation, he is subject to a ban on attending Paris.

Less than 30 years old militants

On Saturday afternoon, 39 members of the far-right movement were arrested at the exit of Charonne cemetery in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, for “participation in a group with a view to committing violence or damage.” According to the prosecutor’s office, the individuals arrested were born between May 1995 and October 2006. Among them, about fifteen are on the S file, according to information from franceinfo.

“Congratulations to the agents of the police headquarters – including the BRAV M – for their responsiveness,” said the prefect of police, Laurent Nunez on X (former Twitter).
