PSG: Luis Enrique impressed by shining Titi away from Paris

Ayman Kari, currently on loan to Lorient from PSG since January 2023, has been showing promising skills in Brittany. So much so that PSG coach Luis Enrique is impressed by his progress. In recent weeks, the attention of PSG observers has been on Xavi Simons, and for good reason. The Dutch international has been having a great season at Leipzig and looks set to play a key role in Paris next season. However, Simons is not the only player loaned out by PSG who is looking to join the Parisian squad next season. Ayman Kari, also on loan to Lorient for 18 months since January 2023, will be returning to PSG in June. According to reports from L’Equipe, one man who is notably impressed by the 19-year-old midfielder’s performances in Brittany is Luis Enrique.

The PSG coach, known for closely monitoring the club’s youth and loaned players, has been watching closely Kari’s nine consecutive starts at Lorient under Régis le Bris. As a defensive midfielder by trade, the Ivry-sur-Seine native has adapted well to his coach’s instructions, being used higher up the pitch in a second striker role. Signed to a professional contract with PSG, Kari had attracted interest from Manchester City and Bayern Munich, who tried to sign him ahead of PSG in June 2022 without success. The question now is whether Kari will have a significant role in Luis Enrique’s rotation next season. Many believe he has the talent to rival that of Warren Zaïre-Emery. Luis Enrique already has his thoughts on the matter and is looking forward to reuniting with Ayman Kari and Xavi Simons next summer.
