M. Chat is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a personal and free exhibition to be seen from November 30, 2023 to January 13, 2024 at the Brugier Rigail gallery in the 3rd arrondissement of the capital. This is the opportunity to discover a series of works by the artist Thoma Vuille, such as his creations superimposed on city and country plans tracing the journey of his legendary Chat around the world!

If you may have never heard of Thoma Vuille, you most certainly know M. Chat. Because behind this iconic cat well known to street art enthusiasts, there is an artist, Thoma Vuille. A French-Swiss painter, born in the canton of Neuchâtel, Thoma Vuille created his first urban works with acrylic when he was only 15 years old. The emblematic figure of M. CHAT later appeared in the streets of Orléans.

Since then, this benevolent and joyful figure has invaded the streets of many other cities, always with that smile that makes us smile back. Thoma Vuille’s legendary yellow cat can be seen today in the streets of Rennes, Nantes, Paris, New York, Hong Kong, Seoul, Dakar, as well as in Germany, England, Japan, and Italy.

From November 30, 2023 to January 13, 2024, the Brugier-Rigail Gallery, located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, is dedicating an exhibition to Thoma Vuille and his legendary M. Chat, who is celebrating his 25th anniversary! Entitled “Urban Reflections,” this free and personal exhibition takes us on a journey following the artist’s Cat to the four corners of the globe.

Some of the canvases displayed at the gallery also represent his iconic Cat in cities where it was originally tagged, as well as on the more classic backgrounds of the roofs of Paris.

So, mark your calendars from November 30, 2023 to January 13, 2024 at the Brugier-Rigail Gallery to smile and (re)discover the fabulous journey of M. Chat around the world.
