Provider wants to gild Apple’s Vision Pro

The company Caviar, known for its refinement of high-end technology, is set to offer a refined version of the Apple Vision Pro at the end of 2024. The luxury device, with an expected price of $39,900, will be produced in a limited edition of just 24 pieces. Caviar, originally based in Russia but now located in Dubai, plans to cover the entire case of the Vision Pro with 18-carat gold and use Connolly leather for the strap.

Noble materials for a luxury feel

Apple already uses high-quality materials, such as aluminum and fabric, for its devices. Caviar justifies the increase in price with its use of 18-carat gold and Connolly leather. The gold plating and premium leather are intended to create a luxurious and exclusive feel for the Vision Pro.

A foldable visor for more privacy

The CVR edition of the Apple glasses will feature a foldable visor that can be used to cover the outer screen. This offers more privacy for the wearer, as the display normally projects the wearer’s eyes onto it when someone is nearby. However, the visor may limit some functions as it covers the external cameras and sensors. The flap is removable, allowing users to switch between privacy and full functionality.

More weight, but no additional distribution strap

Caviar has based its edition of the Vision Pro on Gucci ski goggles and Tom Ford flip-up goggles. The company claims to be using over 1.5 kilograms of gold in the visor, which significantly increases the weight of the original device. It is unclear if Apple will provide an additional strap for better weight distribution, as Caviar has not shown any additional volume in its drafts. However, such a strap may be necessary if the luxury headset is intended for everyday use rather than just display.
