Polish soldiers to participate in event security

The Polish Defense Minister announced on Thursday that his country would join the international coalition set up by France to secure the Paris Olympics this summer.

The Polish Defense Minister stated that Poland would send military reinforcements to help secure the Olympic Games in Paris, as France is on high alert due to the threat of attacks. He mentioned that the Polish armed forces would join the international coalition established by France to support the preparation and security of the 2024 Summer Olympics.

An operational force comprising Polish soldiers, including sniffer dogs, will be deployed to Paris. Their main objective will be to carry out explosives detection operations and counterterrorism efforts. The decisions have already been made, according to the spokesperson for the Polish army headquarters.

A task force is being built for the Olympics, with French Chief of Defence Staff Thierry Burkhard visiting Poland. The French government raised the Vigipirate plan to its maximum level, “urgent attack,” following the recent terrorist attack in Moscow, where 143 people lost their lives.

In support of the security measures for the Paris Olympics, the Polish forces are preparing to assist with their expertise in detecting explosives and combating terrorism.
