The Paris police prefecture is working on a relaxation of the restrictions to avoid interrupting real estate construction work during the Olympics. However, road works will not be possible in the blue and red zones.
During the Olympics, four security perimeters will be put in place: two protection perimeters (a gray perimeter for the entrances of spectators and accredited individuals and an anti-terrorist protection perimeter) and two circulation perimeters (a red perimeter prohibiting car traffic – except for exemptions – a blue perimeter only prohibiting transit to motorized vehicles).
The police prefect intends to make deliveries possible as long as there is no encroachment on the public road. However, construction work will not be possible in the blue and red zones, as it will create traffic congestion. The final traffic perimeters and consultation outcomes will be revealed at a press conference at the end of February.
