Paris FC Upsets Bordeaux, Guingamp Surprises Fleury in D1 Arkema

Le Paris FC showed their character again this Saturday, on the field of the Girondins de Bordeaux. Led twice, the Parisians overturned a valiant but limited Bordeaux team (2-6). Patrice Lair’s girls had opened the scoring with Hillary Diaz (1-0, 16th) and then regained the lead through Abigail Kim (29th, 2-1) two minutes after Rachel Corboz’s equalizer (1-1, 27th) for the visitors.

The Bordelaises were leading at halftime but completely collapsed when Clara Mateo came on at the beginning of the second half, in place of Kessya Bussy, changing the face of the Parisian team. Julie Dufour first restored the two teams to equality (2-2, 48th) before a brace by Mateo in three minutes (49th, 52nd, 2-4). Dufour also added her brace (68th, 2-5), before her teammate completed her hat-trick (72nd, 2-6).

Guingamp also had a successful home game by defeating Fleury, a play-off candidate. The Breton team won 3-1 thanks to a beautiful free kick from Sarah Cambot (1-0, 45th), a penalty by Antonie Starova (48th), and a third goal by Alison Penigel (2-0, 73rd). Aïrine Fontaine scored in the final minutes to save the honor for the Franciliennes (3-1, 88th).

Having been defeated in Le Havre last weekend, Saint-Étienne bounced back during the reception of Dijon. The Vertes won 2-0 thanks to a goal from Noémie Carage (59th), a former player of DFCO, and another from Cindy Caputo (87th). The victory was crucial as it allowed them to overtake their opponents in the standings.

The match between Lille and Le Havre ended in a spectacular 3-3 draw with a thrilling back-and-forth. Romane Enguehard opened the scoring for the visitors (4th, 0-1), Anaïs Ribeyra equalized (25th, 1-1) before a new goal from Mickaëlla Cardia for the Normans (45th, 1-2). Three minutes later, Julie Rabanne leveled the two teams again (48th, 2-2) and then Julie Pian gave Lille the lead for the first time (58th, 3-2). Inès Benyahia secured the draw from a penalty in the final minutes of the match (86th).
