A tragic incident resulting from drug use occurred in the capital. A man was beaten to death in the night of Saturday, September 9th, to Sunday, September 10th, 2023, near Porte de la Chapelle in the 18th arrondissement of Paris, according to information from Le Parisien confirmed by the prosecutor’s office. A suspect is currently in custody.
The incident took place around 8:50 pm. A fight broke out between two drug users. The victim was struck multiple times with an iron bar and died from his injuries after the arrival of emergency services.
Following the murder, an investigation was opened and entrusted to the judicial police. Video surveillance footage allowed for the identification of the alleged perpetrator of the fatal blows. The individual, reportedly born in Somalia and aged 26, was arrested shortly after in the 19th arrondissement. He is currently in custody.
