Nintendo has announced a new gameplay video for the upcoming role-playing game “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom”, along with a Switch game console and accessories based on the game’s design.
The Nintendo Switch with OLED display was launched in October 2021 and has a larger and higher-contrast screen than the original Switch with a 6.2-inch display. Now, Nintendo has announced a special edition in Zelda design and coloring with corresponding ornaments.
The special edition Nintendo Switch model in Zelda design will be available before the game from April 28, 2023, but the game itself will not be included. The pro controllers and case designed in the style of the new Zelda game, on the other hand, will be released at the same time as the release of the new title, on May 12, 2023.
In the new gameplay demonstration, Nintendo producer Eiji Aonuma shows interesting new abilities available to character “Link”. Link can use “time reversal” to turn back time or make a raft by assembling tree trunks.
The new ability “Synthesis” is particularly noteworthy, with which objects can be combined, allowing Link to build powerful weapons or new items.
According to Engadget, the Zelda-style OLED switch will be available in the US for around $360. At $75 and $25 respectively, the pro controller and carrying case are only $5 more than the respective accessories in the standard design. Nintendo has not yet named any prices for Germany.
Fans are excited about the new game and the special edition console and accessories. This is great news for Nintendo and fans of the beloved franchise alike.
