Paris Saint-Germain faced a tough challenge in the first half against Montpellier but accelerated in the second half thanks to a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé on Sunday (2-6).

As long as he is still there, Paris can rest easy in Ligue 1. Despite being pushed for 45 minutes by efficient Montpellier players, PSG ultimately secured a significant victory thanks to a hat-trick from Kylian Mbappé in the closing match of the 26th round of Ligue 1 (2-6). At half-time, the momentum was in favor of Montpellier, who equalized just before the break with a penalty from Téji Savanier (2-2).
But in the second half, Kylian Mbappé put the team on his back to create a gap that Montpellier could not recover from. In just thirteen minutes, the French international, who had already scored in the 22nd minute, completed a brace (50th, 63rd) to put Paris out of reach. In the meantime, Kang-in Lee scored with a superb strike (53rd), before Nuno Mendes added to the score towards the end of the match (89th). In the standings, PSG bounces back after three consecutive draws and continues to lead the championship by a comfortable margin. They have a 12-point lead over their closest rival, Brest, with eight rounds left in the championship.
