Managing and Utilizing iPads: Online Workshop for Schools

Online workshop: Using and managing iPads in schools

Deploying and managing Apple iPads in schools can present some challenges. Mac & i is offering a two-day online workshop to address these issues. The workshop is designed for teachers, IT professionals, and administrators in schools and school authorities.

The workshop covers various topics, including preparing the infrastructure, correctly using the Apple School Manager, and managing the tablets in everyday school life. Participants will learn about tasks such as creating managed Apple IDs, device registration, and app license purchasing using the Apple School Manager.

The workshop will also cover configuration steps for setting up and managing iPads using the MDM solution “Jamf School,” which is widely used in schools. Participants will have access to practical exercises during the workshop.

Management of the iPads is another important aspect that will be covered, including finding lost devices, lifecycle management, software updates, and control over managed Apple IDs.

Other topics in the workshop include tools for teachers such as the Apple apps Classroom and Schoolwork, using “shared” iPads for multiple students, and integrating privately provided devices from parents.

The workshop will take place on September 19 and 20, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is limited to a maximum of ten participants and will be conducted online via zoom. Participants can easily join the workshop using a browser-based zoom implementation that complies with DSGVO regulations.

A ticket for the two-day workshop costs 990 euros, with a 10 percent discount available for early bookers.
