Mac multitool for image files: GraphicConverter 12 in the test
Where the core competencies lie
Conclusion and comparison to the competition
The name is a real understatement: Yes, GraphicConverter converts files from modern RAW types via the outdated 8BIM -Photoshop format to special cases of microscopes or medical devices.
But the long-established Mac app can do a lot more, for example correct images (color, crop, retouch stamp), prepare them for the web, add effects, label them, set GPS data, access the Finder structure with an image browser or a Play slide show.
Developer Thorsten Lemke likes to use Apple tools and interfaces. Consequently, the more modern iPhone photo formats ProRAW or a HEIC portrait do not pose a problem for the app, unlike some classic RAW software.
