Leipzig Sensation Gvardiol Shines in England’s Football Scene

Champions League: Leipzig star Gvardiol plays in England

Leipzig Defender Josko Gvardiol Catches Attention of English Clubs

Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol of Leipzig is catching the attention of several English clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, and current opponents Manchester City. In the first leg of their Champions League match, Gvardiol almost completely nullified City star Erling Haaland and even scored the important final goal. All eyes will be on Gvardiol in the second leg on Tuesday evening, as RB Leipzig aims to move into the quarter-finals.

Gvardiol has a €112m release clause in his contract next year, but RB Leipzig would reportedly be willing to talk from 100 million euros for a summer transfer. However, it remains to be seen which club will be willing to jump over this high hurdle in the end. Gvardiol himself has expressed his desire to play in the Premier League, telling Uefa in an interview before the game that it is his goal to be as successful as possible this season and then decide how to continue.

Despite the interest from other clubs, Leipzig coach Marco Rose has stated that Gvardiol will remain their player for the time being. However, with his impressive performances on the pitch, it may only be a matter of time until Gvardiol leaves for greener pastures.
