Infineon Technologies has celebrated its largest single investment in the company’s history with the groundbreaking for its new semiconductor plant in Dresden. The company could receive public funds, and the “Smart Power Fab” is expected to release its first chips in 2026. The EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen attended the event, along with other prominent politicians.

SpaceX’s Starship rocket exploded during its launch, causing damage to a nature reserve and surrounding area. Environmental protection organizations and a cultural preservation group are taking the US Air Traffic Control Authority FAA to court, as they allowed the launch despite the risks.
