High-speed TGV line between Lausanne and Paris disrupted for a day due to cable theft

Train service between Lausanne and Paris Gare de Lyon has been restored Wednesday morning, according to the Swiss Federal Railways (CFF). The connection had been interrupted due to a “very important cable theft” near Aisy, in Burgundy, on the night of Monday to Tuesday, according to the SNCF.

The damage was significant, with theft of copper and cable over several meters, which made the repair complex, the SNCF said on its website. Trains have been running normally again since Wednesday morning.

Initially, a technical malfunction in the railway facilities had been mentioned.

Passengers who had planned to take this line were invited to check the CFF website for information.
