Discover the Latest Additions of iOS 16.4

iOS 16.4 is here: These are the new features

Apple has released its latest operating system, iOS 16.4, for the public to download. The manufacturer has also provided updates for iPadOS 16.4, macOS 13.3 Ventura, and watchOS 9.4, all of which can be installed via the integrated software update.

The iOS and iPadOS updates bring about significant changes, such as new interfaces for Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), which now receive push notifications and an identifier on the app icon for missed notifications, much like native apps. Additionally, Apple has prepared its WebKit browser engine with many improvements and extensions to compete in the browser market in the future.

The update also offers voice isolation during phone calls to block out background noise and extends the Photos app’s duplicate finder to shared photo libraries. Apple promises that the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models will see improved car accident detection, although they have not released further details.

Users of Apple Shortcuts will appreciate the number of new ways to automate their devices with iOS 16.4, such as configuring the always-on display on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max and muting unknown callers. Users can now also control system features such as screen lock and restarting via Siri voice command.

Lastly, the new operating system updates aim to eliminate errors and security gaps. Apple usually releases details of security updates later in the evening.
