Heise Webinar Series on .NET 6.0/7.0 Begins Next Week

The Heise webinar series on .NET 6.0/7.0 will start next week

The first webinar of the “.NET 6.0/7.0 in practical use” series is set to take place next week on April 19th. It aims to provide developers with all the necessary information to migrate their developments to modern .NET. The series consists of six webinars with a total duration of over 24 hours and is also helpful for those looking to start a new development based on .NET 6.0 or 7.0.

Modern .NET refers to Microsoft’s development platform, which will be launched in autumn 2021 with .NET 6.0. It can be used to create up-to-date desktop applications with Windows Forms and WPF, ASP.NET-based web applications, mobile apps based on Universal Windows Platform and .NET MAUI or Unity games. The webinar is based on the current .NET 7.0 release, which although not a Long-Term Support (LTS) release, has several innovations and improvements to code quality that may justify the migration to .NET 7. The next LTS release, .NET 8.0, is scheduled for November 2023.

During the webinar series, developers will learn how to practically use modern .NET through a continuous, multi-layered case study. Each webinar consists of four blocks of 45 minutes each, starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 1 p.m. It includes explanations and demonstrations, with live coding by experts occasionally featured. The series was designed by .NET doctor Holger Schwichtenberg and his team of experts from www.IT-Visions.de.

Participation in one of the webinar dates costs 169 euros (inclusive of VAT). However, booking all six appointments at once yields significant savings through an annual subscription to the heise Academy for 495 euros compared to individual sales. In addition to the six webinars, subscribers gain access to over 100 video courses and over 100 webinars per year. Those who prefer to save as a package can purchase all the webinars for 649 euros. All participants not only get practical training and interaction but can also review and deepen their learning with notes and materials afterwards. Questions are answered directly through live chat, and participants can exchange information on the topic with each other. Subsequent access to the videos and exercise materials is included.

For those interested, more information and tickets are available on the webinar series’ website. By signing up for the newsletter, one can also stay updated on offers from the heise Academy.
